Jerusalem & the Holy Land: Israel Past & Present
Led by Rabbi Ariel Fisher of Princeton’s Center for Jewish Life, a group of inquisitive Princetonians discovered Israel’s biblical, archaeological and cultural heritage while engaging Tiger-to-Tiger with the local alumni community this spring. Beginning in Jerusalem, with its unique interplay of Jewish, Christian and Muslim cultures, they witnessed the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Western Wall; with an excursion to Bethlehem on the edge of the Judean desert, they travelled through history to marvel at the Church of the Nativity; they explored Safed, the spiritual center of Kabbala mysticism, where artist Sheva Chaya ’97 gave a glassblowing demonstration; and they concluded their journey in vibrant Tel Aviv, where they gathered with local alumni for a celebratory dinner.
